Health personnel

A health center is located in purok 4. One midwife from the Rural Health Unit visits every month. The stationed health personnel in the barangay are three barangay health workers and one barangay nutrition scholar, who are on duty from Monday to Friday, 8am in the morning until 5pm in the afternoon.
Training attended on specialized programs
Barangay San Jose, Mahayag, Zamboanga del Sur has organized three committees for their own barangay to take care the community people’s health welfare. These are the BNC, also known as barangay nutrition committee with a chairman, vice chairman and 14 members; BHERT, which stands for Barangay. Health Emergency Response Team that is composed of 5 members; and BDCC, or Barangay Disaster Coordinating Council, which has 9 members.
